Patrons at Amore sometimes have questions about the establishment and here we would like to answer a few.
- Is Amore Pizzeria's owners the same people who owned Gloria Pizzeria on Mainstreet Flushing?
- Yes! For long time customers who remember Gloria's pizza when they were growing up in Flushing this is the same owners and the same great pizza they remembered growing up as a kid. Many Flushing natives ask if they are the same, well they surely are.
- How long has Amore Pizzeria been in business?
- We opened in July of 1975 and we are coming up on 30 years in business in Flushing. We hope to last 30 more years and keep giving our customer great food and great memories.
- Does Andy the pizza man still work at Amore's?
- Yes he does. The long time employee has been with Amore for over 25 years. He started working here at about 15 or 16 years old and is still cooking a great pie! "Blue eyes" is a landmark just a like Amore's itself.
- Why is the pizza always so hot?
- Our trademark at Amore pizza is always having fresh pizza. The pizza is constantly coming right out of the oven and never gets a chance to cool off. Customers will refuse a reheated slice and don't mind waiting the extra 2 minutes for a fresh slice .
- Are their still the original owners?
- Of course yes. They are retired however but they still tend to occasionally pop up and even work certain days. They have been in the business for 35 years and are finally starting to relax a little bit. Currently their sons Manny and Sal are rmanaging the business while the bossses enjoy their retirement.
- Is Amore Pizzeria ever closed?
- Yes, even though we seem open all the time we do close on major holidays like christmas or easter. We need a break too sometimes.
- What is your pizza recipe and can you give it to us?
- That's one secret we have to keep. All I can say is we use the top quality sauce, cheese, and other ingredients along with plenty of old fashioned tricks that only the two Sal's can teach you. Unfortunately we can't give that recipe out but we have know problem providing you with the best pizza in America.
- Do you sell the ingredients to your pizza and other dishes?
- Yes. Just ask us for any ingredient you want whether the dough, sauce or cheese. If you want all 3 just tell us you want a pizza kit and we will provide you with ingredients for an entire Amore Pizza. If neccessary you can even get a directions manual. (Just kidding) Feel free to ask any questions about making pizza , after all thats our job!
- Does Amore deliver to my area and what's the minimum to order for delivery?
- We deliver mostly to College Point, Flushing and Whitestone. If the area is out of our territory unfortunately we can't deliver their. Just ask in order to find out if we can cater to your area. If not we will be pleased to prepare the order for you to pick up in 10 minutes or less. Secondly the minimum order must be at least 12 dollars? Sorry we can't deliver only a slice even though we understand wjat a craving it creates.
- Did Amore get renovated?
- Yes, we renovated the floors, counters and dining area this last year. It was time to freshen things up a little bit. I hope you like it and it enhances your dining pleasure.
- Can Amore Cater my party?
- We would be delighted to cater your event. We offer almost all of our dishes in full tray and half tray sizes. You can check out our catering menu and call or email to webmaster bigsal384@yahoo.com to place an order. Please place an order approximetley one week in advance in order to ensure sufficient prep time.
